Ursula is a dedicated HR professional with more than 25 years experience in the human resource management field. As the former Vice President of Human Resources with a large Canadian charity, Ursula is passionate about delivering results through positive employee experiences.
Studying at McMaster University she completed the Human Resources Management diploma and a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Sociology. Through the Human Resource Professional Association, Ursula attained designations as a Certified Human Resource Professional and Certified Human Resource Leader.
Ursula has provided leadership to a wide range of initiatives within Canada and the United States for YMCA Canada HR Sector Council and the YMCA North American Network along with numerous workgroups and committees in support of excellence in the delivery of strategic HR initiatives with a people-centric approach.
Ursula has a passion for all things HR and has a well-developed set of competencies that reflect her common sense approach and understanding of the complexities of achieving results through employees. Her HR knowledge is extensive along with her experience and awareness of HR employment trends and labour laws. The ability to effectively develop strategies in response to managing complex HR issues is at the forefront of her skills.
Outside of her professional career, Ursula is committed to her role as an active Grandmother often planning and attending excursions, activities, sports, and outings that stimulate and encourage her grandchildren to engage in healthy living and participation in their community. Outside of family, Ursula is an active community volunteer through her involvement as a member of the Board of Directors of The Hamilton District Society for Disabled Children.
